Sol Campbell up for another double - Free £20 Bet

By Paddy Power
Friday, 22nd January 2010
This Sunday Arsenal go to The Britannia Stadium for their FA Cup match sitting top of the Premier League, is that more important than winning the world's most famous cup competition is a question Arsene Wenger will pondering before kick off?

Paddy Power still believe that Arsenal can win this match and make them 3/4 favourites to advance into the next round. Some people will be fancying Stoke to cause an upset and send another “big four” side out of the competition, 7/2 isn’t a bad price especially when you think who may or may not play for The Gunners. The one thing Arsenal will not want is a replay with all the games they have coming up.

The big talking point ahead of this game is the likely first team debut of the recently re-signed Sol Campbell. What a time for the former defender from the “Invincibles” team to make his return, his physical presence could be suited to the Stoke game plan though. Clearly they will stick with their tried and tested tactics of long balls and throws from Rory Delap into the penalty area, this is meat and drink for Sol and he’ll relish the pushing and shoving that will come with it. Will he be able to mark his debut with the all important first goal? Paddy Power make him a massive 28/1 chance.

Another player looking to make his mark ahead of the four huge league matches is Theo Walcott, hopefully he can have a good run in the team and stay injury free as his pace is a big asset to The Gunners. He’s 15/2 to score the opening goal on Sunday and 11/4 to score at anytime, a fully fit and in form Theo Walcott will be like a new signing for Arsenal.

Despite Arsenal breaking goalscoring records in this season, this game looks like being very tight. It’s just the nature of Stoke’s game that they will defend a high line against Arsenal and try and contain them. Last season Stoke famously beat Arsenal 2-1 at The Britannia, you can get 12/1 on a repeat of that or 13/2 on the reverse of that and Arsenal win 2-1.

Correct Score
11/2      Arsenal 1-0
15/2      Arsenal 2-0
13/2      Arsenal 2-1
14/1      Arsenal 3-0
13/1      Arsenal 3-1
